How To Install mingw64-flac on Fedora 36

on Fedora 36.
What is mingw64-flac
FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. Grossly oversimplified, FLAC is similar to Ogg Vorbis, but lossless. The FLAC project consists of the stream format, reference encoders and decoders in library form, flac, a command-line program to encode and decode FLAC files, metaflac, a command-line metadata editor for FLAC files and input plugins for various music players. This package is MinGW compiled flac library for the Win64 target.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mingw64-flac
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mingw64-flac.
Install mingw64-flac on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-flac
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mingw64-flac
Install mingw64-flac on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-flac
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mingw64-flac
How To Uninstall mingw64-flac on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the mingw64-flac
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mingw64-flac
