How To Install mftrace on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mftrace
on Fedora 36.
What is mftrace
mftrace is a small Python program that lets you trace a TeX bitmap font into a PFA or PFB font (A PostScript Type1 Scalable Font) or TTF (TrueType) font. Scalable fonts offer many advantages over bitmaps, as they allow documents to render correctly at many printer resolutions. Moreover, Ghostscript can generate much better PDF, if given scalable PostScript fonts.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mftrace
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mftrace.
Install mftrace on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mftrace
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mftrace
Install mftrace on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mftrace
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mftrace
How To Uninstall mftrace on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the mftrace
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mftrace
