How To Install mcpp on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mcpp
on Fedora 36.
What is mcpp
C/C++ preprocessor defines and expands macros and processes ‘#if’, ‘#include’ and some other directives. MCPP is an alternative C/C++ preprocessor with the highest conformance. It supports multiple standards MCPP is especially useful for debugging a source program which uses complicated macros and also useful for checking portability of a source. Though mcpp could be built as a replacement of GCC’s resident preprocessor or as a stand-alone program without using library build of mcpp, this package installs only a program named ‘mcpp’ which links shared library of mcpp and behaves independent from GCC.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mcpp
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mcpp.
Install mcpp on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mcpp
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mcpp
Install mcpp on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mcpp
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mcpp
How To Uninstall mcpp on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the mcpp
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mcpp
