How To Install masscan on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install masscan
on Fedora 36.
What is masscan
This is an Internet-scale port scanner. It can scan the entire Internet in under 6 minutes, transmitting 10 million packets per second, from a single machine. It is a faster port scan that produces results similar to nmap, the most famous port scanner. Internally, it operates more like scanrand, unicornscan, and ZMap, using asynchronous transmission.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install masscan
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install masscan.
Install masscan on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install masscan
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install masscan
Install masscan on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install masscan
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install masscan
How To Uninstall masscan on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the masscan
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove masscan
