In this tutorial we learn how to install lziprecover
on Fedora 36.
What is lziprecover
Lziprecover is a data recovery tool and decompressor for files in the lzip compressed data format (.lz) able to repair slightly damaged files, recover badly damaged files from two or more copies, extract undamaged members from multi-member files, decompress files and test integrity of files. Lziprecover is able to recover or decompress files produced by any of the compressors in the lzip family; lzip, plzip, minilzip/lzlib, clzip and pdlzip. This recovery capability contributes to make the lzip format one of the best options for long-term data archiving.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install lziprecover
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install lziprecover.
Install lziprecover on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lziprecover
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install lziprecover
Install lziprecover on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lziprecover
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install lziprecover
How To Uninstall lziprecover on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the lziprecover
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove lziprecover
