How To Install lxrandr on Fedora 36

In this tutorial we learn how to install lxrandr
on Fedora 36.
What is lxrandr
LXRandR is a simple monitor configuration tool utilizing X RandR extension. It’s a GUI frontend of the command line program xrandr and manages screen resolution and external monitors. When you run LXRandR with an external monitor or projector connected, its GUI will change and show you some options to quickly configure the external device. LXRandR is the standard screen manager of LXDE, the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, but can be used in other desktop environments as well.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install lxrandr
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install lxrandr.
Install lxrandr on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lxrandr
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install lxrandr
Install lxrandr on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lxrandr
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install lxrandr
How To Uninstall lxrandr on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the lxrandr
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove lxrandr
