What is luminance-hdr

Luminance HDR is a graphical user interface (based on the Qt5 toolkit) that provides a complete workflow for HDR imaging. Supported HDR formats • OpenEXR (extension • Radiance RGBE (extension • Tiff formats • Raw image formats (extension • PFS native format (extension Supported LDR formats • JPEG, PNG, PPM, PBM, TIFF, FITS Supported features • Create an HDR file from a set of images (JPEG, TIFF 8bit and 16bit, RAW) of the same scene taken at different exposure settings • Save and load HDR files • Rotate and resize HDR files • Tonemap HDR images • Projective Transformations • Copy EXIF data between sets of images • Supports internationalization Raw image formats are supported - and treated as HDR - thanks to LibRAW. The code is in part based on the existing open source packages • “pfstools”, “pfstmo” and “pfscalibration” by Grzegorz Krawczyk and Rafal Mantiuk • “qpfstmo”, by Nicholas Phillips. Without their contribution all of this would have not been possible.

We can use yum or dnf to install luminance-hdr on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install luminance-hdr.

Install luminance-hdr on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install luminance-hdr using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install luminance-hdr

Install luminance-hdr on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install luminance-hdr using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install luminance-hdr

How To Uninstall luminance-hdr on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the luminance-hdr package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove luminance-hdr
