Libvisual is an abstraction library that comes between applications and audio visualisation plugins. Libvisual wants to change this by providing an interface towards plugins and applications, through this easy to use interface applications can easily access plugins and since the drawing is done by the application it also enables the developer to draw the visual anywhere he wants.

We can use yum or dnf to install libvisual on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libvisual.

Install libvisual on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libvisual using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libvisual

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libvisual using yum by running the following command:
