The pgtypes library maps PostgreSQL database types to C equivalents that can be used in C programs. It also offers functions to do basic calculations with those types within C, i.e., without the help of the PostgreSQL server.

We can use yum or dnf to install libpgtypes on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libpgtypes.

Install libpgtypes on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libpgtypes using dnf by running the following command:
