What is libmnl

libmnl is a minimalistic user-space library oriented to Netlink developers. There are a lot of common tasks in parsing, validating, constructing of both the Netlink header and TLVs that are repetitive and easy to get wrong. This library aims to provide simple helpers that allows you to re-use code and to avoid re-inventing the wheel.

We can use yum or dnf to install libmnl on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libmnl.

Install libmnl on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libmnl using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libmnl

Install libmnl on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libmnl using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install libmnl

How To Uninstall libmnl on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the libmnl package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libmnl
