How To Install libfreenect-openni on Fedora 36

on Fedora 36.
What is libfreenect-openni
The OpenNI2-FreenectDriver is a bridge to libfreenect implemented as an OpenNI2 driver. It allows OpenNI2 to use Kinect hardware on Linux and OSX. It was originally a separate project but is now distributed with libfreenect.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libfreenect-openni
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libfreenect-openni.
Install libfreenect-openni on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libfreenect-openni
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libfreenect-openni
Install libfreenect-openni on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libfreenect-openni
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libfreenect-openni
How To Uninstall libfreenect-openni on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the libfreenect-openni
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libfreenect-openni
