How To Install libdb-cxx on Fedora 36

What is libdb-cxx
The Berkeley Database (Berkeley DB) is a programmatic toolkit that provides embedded database support for both traditional and client/server applications. The Berkeley DB includes B+tree, Extended Linear Hashing, Fixed and Variable-length record access methods, transactions, locking, logging, shared memory caching, and database recovery. The Berkeley DB supports C, C++, and Perl APIs. It is used by many applications, including Python and Perl, so this should be installed on all systems.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libdb-cxx
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libdb-cxx.
Install libdb-cxx on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libdb-cxx
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libdb-cxx
