How To Install lemon on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lemon on Fedora 36.
What is lemon
Lemon is an LALR(1) parser generator for C or C++. It does the same job as bison and yacc. But lemon is not another bison or yacc clone. It uses a different grammar syntax which is designed to reduce the number of coding errors. Lemon also uses a more sophisticated parsing engine that is faster than yacc and bison and which is both reentrant and thread-safe. Furthermore, Lemon implements features that can be used to eliminate resource leaks, making is suitable for use in long-running programs such as graphical user interfaces or embedded controllers.
We can use yum or dnf to install lemon on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install lemon.
Install lemon on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lemon using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install lemon
Install lemon on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install lemon using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install lemon
How To Uninstall lemon on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the lemon package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove lemon
