What is `kremotecontrol`

KRemoteControl (formerly known as KDELirc) is a KDE frontend for your remote controls. It allows to configure actions for button presses on remotes. All types of remotes supported by the Solid module in the KDE platform are also supported by KRemoteControl (e.g. with the Linux Infrared Remote Control system (LIRC) as backend).

We can use yum or dnf to install kremotecontrol on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install kremotecontrol.

Install kremotecontrol on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install kremotecontrol using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install kremotecontrol

Install kremotecontrol on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install kremotecontrol using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install kremotecontrol

How To Uninstall kremotecontrol on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the kremotecontrol package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove kremotecontrol
