What is `jtidy`

JTidy is a Java port of HTML Tidy, a HTML syntax checker and pretty printer. Like its non-Java cousin, JTidy can be used as a tool for cleaning up malformed and faulty HTML. In addition, JTidy provides a DOM interface to the document that is being processed, which effectively makes you able to use JTidy as a DOM parser for real-world HTML.

We can use yum or dnf to install jtidy on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install jtidy.

Install jtidy on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install jtidy using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install jtidy

Install jtidy on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install jtidy using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install jtidy

How To Uninstall jtidy on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the jtidy package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove jtidy
