What is iowatcher

iowatcher generates graphs from blktrace runs to help visualize IO patterns and performance as SVG images or movies. It can plot multiple blktrace runs together, making it easy to compare the differences between different benchmark runs. You should install the iowatcher package if you need to visualize detailed information about IO patterns.

We can use yum or dnf to install iowatcher on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install iowatcher.

Install iowatcher on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install iowatcher using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install iowatcher

Install iowatcher on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh
