How To Install howl on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install howl
on Fedora 36.
What is howl
Howl is a general purpose editor that aims to be both lightweight and fully customizable. It’s built on top of the very fast LuaJIT runtime, uses Gtk for its interface, and can be extended in either Lua or Moonscript. It’s known to work on Linux, but should work on at least the *BSD’s as well.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install howl
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install howl.
Install howl on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install howl
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install howl
Install howl on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install howl
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install howl
How To Uninstall howl on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the howl
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove howl
