What is grepcidr

The grepcidr utility can be used to filter a list of IP addresses against one or more Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) specifications. As with grep, there are options to invert matching and load patterns from a file. It is capable of efficiently processing large numbers of IPs and networks.

We can use yum or dnf to install grepcidr on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install grepcidr.

Install grepcidr on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install grepcidr using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install grepcidr

Install grepcidr on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install grepcidr using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install grepcidr

How To Uninstall grepcidr on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the grepcidr package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove grepcidr
