How To Install gnupg1 on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gnupg1
on Fedora 36.
What is gnupg1
GnuPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is a GNU utility for encrypting data and creating digital signatures. GnuPG has advanced key management capabilities and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet standard described in RFC2440. Since GnuPG doesn’t use any patented algorithm, it is not compatible with any version of PGP2 (PGP2.x uses only IDEA for symmetric-key encryption, which is patented worldwide).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install gnupg1
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnupg1.
Install gnupg1 on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnupg1
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gnupg1
Install gnupg1 on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install gnupg1
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install gnupg1
How To Uninstall gnupg1 on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the gnupg1
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gnupg1
