What is `ghc-syb`

This package contains the generics system described in the “Scrap Your Boilerplate” papers (see <http It defines the ‘Data’ class of types permitting folding and unfolding of constructor applications, instances of this class for primitive types, and a variety of traversals.

We can use yum or dnf to install ghc-syb on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ghc-syb.

Install ghc-syb on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install ghc-syb using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ghc-syb
