How To Install getdns-utils on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install getdns-utils
on Fedora 36.
What is getdns-utils
The getdns-utils package contains utilities using getdns library, getdns_query and getdns_query_mon utilities. They can be used to analyze responses from DNS servers over UDP, TCP and TLS, including support for DNS security. getdns_query can be used for fetching details of DNS responses in json format. getdns_query_mon is great for automated monitoring of DNS server replies.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install getdns-utils
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install getdns-utils.
Install getdns-utils on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install getdns-utils
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install getdns-utils
Install getdns-utils on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install getdns-utils
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install getdns-utils
How To Uninstall getdns-utils on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the getdns-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove getdns-utils
