What is getdata-gzip

Enables getdata to read dirfiles that are encoded (compressed) with gzip. Fields must be fully compressed with gzip, not actively being written to. Does not yet allow writing of gzip encoded dirfiles.

We can use yum or dnf to install getdata-gzip on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install getdata-gzip.
