How To Install frobby on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install frobby on Fedora 36.
What is frobby
Frobby is a software system and project for computations with monomial ideals. Frobby is free software and it is intended as a vehicle for research on monomial ideals, as well as a useful practical tool for investigating monomial ideals. The current functionality includes Hilbert series, maximal standard monomials, combinatorial optimization on monomial ideals, primary decomposition, irreducible decomposition, Alexander dual, associated primes, minimization and intersection of monomial ideals as well as the computation of Frobenius problems (using 4ti2) with very large numbers. Frobby is also able to translate between formats that can be used with several different computer systems, such as Macaulay 2, Monos, 4ti2, CoCoA4 and Singular. Thus Frobby can be used with any of those systems.
We can use yum or dnf to install frobby on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install frobby.
Install frobby on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install frobby using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install frobby
Install frobby on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install frobby using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install frobby
How To Uninstall frobby on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the frobby package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove frobby
