How To Install freerouting on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install freerouting on Fedora 36.
What is freerouting
FreeRouting is a routing software intended but not limited for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). By using the standard Specctra or Electra DSN interface it works together with numerous CAD tools including the LayoutEditor, KiCad and Eagle. It imports DSN-files generated by the Specctra interface and exports Specctra session files. FreeRouting was developed in 2004 by Alfons Wirtz. He stopped the development in 2008 and published the source code under the GPL in 2014. From 2015 FreeRouting is included in the LayoutEditor packages and its source code is maintained by its team.
We can use yum or dnf to install freerouting on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install freerouting.
Install freerouting on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install freerouting using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install freerouting
Install freerouting on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install freerouting using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install freerouting
How To Uninstall freerouting on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the freerouting package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove freerouting
