What is f2c

F2c converts Fortran 77 source code to C or C++ source files. If no Fortran files are named on the command line, f2c can read Fortran from standard input and write C to standard output.

We can use yum or dnf to install f2c on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install f2c.

Install f2c on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install f2c using dnf by running the following command:

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install f2c using yum by running the following command:
