How To Install expectk on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install expectk
on Fedora 36.
What is expectk
Expect is a tcl application for automating and testing interactive applications such as telnet, ftp, passwd, fsck, rlogin, tip, etc. Expect makes it easy for a script to control another program and interact with it. This package originally contained expectk and some scripts that used it. As expectk was removed from upstream tarball in expect-5.45, now the package contains just these scripts. Please use tclsh with package require Tk and Expect instead of expectk.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install expectk
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install expectk.
Install expectk on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install expectk
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install expectk
Install expectk on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install expectk
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install expectk
How To Uninstall expectk on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the expectk
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove expectk
