In this tutorial we learn how to install elk-mpich
on Fedora 36.
What is elk-mpich
An all-electron full-potential linearised augmented-plane wave (FP-LAPW) code with many advanced features. Written originally at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz as a milestone of the EXCITING EU Research and Training Network, the code is designed to be as simple as possible so that new developments in the field of density functional theory (DFT) can be added quickly and reliably. This package contains the mpich version.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install elk-mpich
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install elk-mpich.
Install elk-mpich on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install elk-mpich
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install elk-mpich
Install elk-mpich on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install elk-mpich
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install elk-mpich
How To Uninstall elk-mpich on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the elk-mpich
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove elk-mpich
