How To Install diffstat on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install diffstat
on Fedora 36.
What is diffstat
The diff command compares files line by line. Diffstat reads the output of the diff command and displays a histogram of the insertions, deletions and modifications in each file. Diffstat is commonly used to provide a summary of the changes in large, complex patch files. Install diffstat if you need a program which provides a summary of the diff command’s output.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install diffstat
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install diffstat.
Install diffstat on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install diffstat
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install diffstat
Install diffstat on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install diffstat
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install diffstat
How To Uninstall diffstat on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the diffstat
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove diffstat
