How To Install buffer on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install buffer
on Fedora 36.
What is buffer
This is a program designed to speed up writing tapes on remote tape drives. When this program is put “in the pipe”, two processes are started. One process reads from standard-in and the other writes to standard-out. Both processes communicate via shared memory.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install buffer
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install buffer.
Install buffer on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install buffer
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install buffer
Install buffer on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install buffer
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install buffer
How To Uninstall buffer on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the buffer
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove buffer
