How To Install bitlbee-steam on Fedora 36

on Fedora 36.
What is bitlbee-steam
The Steam protocol plugin for BitlBee. This plugin uses the Steam Mobile API allowing it to run alongside the main Steam client. It is worth noting that the Steam Mobile API is HTTP based, which does lead to mild latency.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install bitlbee-steam
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bitlbee-steam.
Install bitlbee-steam on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install bitlbee-steam
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install bitlbee-steam
Install bitlbee-steam on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install bitlbee-steam
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install bitlbee-steam
How To Uninstall bitlbee-steam on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the bitlbee-steam
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove bitlbee-steam
