What is bear-engine

The Bear engine is a set of C++ libraries and tools dedicated to creating great 2D games. It has been used to create Plee the Bear (plee-the-bear), Andy’s Super Great Park (asgp) and Tunnel (tunnel). This package contains the run-time libraries used by the games based on the Bear engine.

We can use yum or dnf to install bear-engine on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bear-engine.

Install bear-engine on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install bear-engine using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install bear-engine

Install bear-engine on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install bear-engine using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install bear-engine

How To Uninstall bear-engine on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the bear-engine package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove bear-engine
