How To Install avahi-autoipd on Fedora 36

on Fedora 36.
What is avahi-autoipd
avahi-autoipd implements IPv4LL, “Dynamic Configuration of IPv4 Link-Local Addresses” (IETF RFC3927), a protocol for automatic IP address configuration from the link-local 169.254.0.0/16 range without the need for a central server. It is primarily intended to be used in ad-hoc networks which lack a DHCP server.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install avahi-autoipd
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install avahi-autoipd.
Install avahi-autoipd on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install avahi-autoipd
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install avahi-autoipd
Install avahi-autoipd on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install avahi-autoipd
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install avahi-autoipd
How To Uninstall avahi-autoipd on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the avahi-autoipd
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove avahi-autoipd
