What is `amavis`

amavis is a high-performance and reliable interface between mailer (MTA) and one or more content checkers Mail reliability, portability and maintainability. It talks to MTA via (E)SMTP or LMTP, or by using helper programs. No timing gaps exist in the design which could cause a mail loss.

We can use yum or dnf to install amavis on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install amavis.

Install amavis on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install amavis using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install amavis

Install amavis on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install amavis using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install amavis

How To Uninstall amavis on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the amavis package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove amavis
