Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xscorch on Fedora 34.

What is xscorch

xscorch is a clone of the classic DOS game, “Scorched Earth”. The basic goal is to annihilate enemy tanks using overpowered guns weapons, you target the enemy by adjusting the angle of your turret and firing power, and you hope to destroy their tank before they destroy yours.

We can use yum or dnf to install xscorch on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xscorch.

Install xscorch on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xscorch using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xscorch

Install xscorch on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall xscorch on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the xscorch package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xscorch
