What is xdesktopwaves

xdesktopwaves is a cellular automata setting the background of your X Window System desktop under water. Windows and mouse are like ships on the sea. Each movement of these ends up in moving water waves. You can even have rain and/or storm stirring up the water.

We can use yum or dnf to install xdesktopwaves on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xdesktopwaves.

Install xdesktopwaves on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
