Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xbanish on Fedora 34.

What is xbanish

xbanish hides the mouse cursor when you start typing, and shows it again when the mouse cursor moves or a mouse button is pressed. This is similar to xterm’s pointerMode setting, but xbanish works globally in the X11 session.

We can use yum or dnf to install xbanish on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xbanish.

Install xbanish on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xbanish using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xbanish

How To Uninstall xbanish on Fedora 34
