How To Install wdisplays on Fedora 34

wdisplays is GUI display configurator for wlroots compositors

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install wdisplays on Fedora 34.

What is wdisplays

wdisplays is a graphical application for configuring displays in Wayland compositors. It borrows some code from kanshi. It should work in any compositor that implements the wlr-output-management-unstable-v1 protocol, including sway. The goal of this project is to allow precise adjustment of display settings in kiosks, digital signage, and other elaborate multi-monitor setups.

We can use yum or dnf to install wdisplays on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install wdisplays.

Install wdisplays on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install wdisplays using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install wdisplays

Install wdisplays on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall wdisplays on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the wdisplays package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove wdisplays
