How To Install ucpp on Fedora 34

In this tutorial we learn how to install ucpp on Fedora 34.

What is ucpp

A C preprocessor is a part of a C compiler responsible for macro replacement, conditional compilation and inclusion of header files. It is often found as a stand-alone program on Unix systems. ucpp is such a preprocessor; it is designed to be quick and light, but anyway fully compliant to the ISO standard 9899 compiled as a stand-alone program, or linked to some other code; in the latter case, ucpp will output tokens, one at a time, on demand, as an integrated lexer.

We can use yum or dnf to install ucpp on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ucpp.

Install ucpp on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install ucpp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ucpp

Install ucpp on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall ucpp on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the ucpp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ucpp
