How To Install tftp on Fedora 34

tftp is The client for the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP)

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install tftp on Fedora 34.

What is tftp

The Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) is normally used only for booting diskless workstations. The tftp package provides the user interface for TFTP, which allows users to transfer files to and from a remote machine. This program and TFTP provide very little security, and should not be enabled unless it is expressly needed.

We can use yum or dnf to install tftp on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tftp.

Install tftp on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install tftp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tftp

How To Uninstall tftp on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the tftp package we can use the following command:
