Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install steghide on Fedora 34.

What is steghide

Steghide is a steganography program that is able to hide data in various kinds of image- and audio-files. The color- respectivly sample-frequencies are not changed thus making the embedding resistant against first-order statistical tests. Features of steghide include compression and encryption of embedded data, embedding of a checksum to verify the integrity of the extracted data and support for jpeg, bmp, wav and au files.

We can use yum or dnf to install steghide on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install steghide.

Install steghide on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install steghide using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install steghide

Install steghide on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall steghide on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the steghide package we can use the following command:
