Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install spor on Fedora 34.

What is spor

Spor recursively walks into a given directory, storing file mode & ownership information in a flat-file database for future retrievals. It was firstly intended to use with backup & version control scripts, and it provides a simple and safe method to save and restore particular meta-data information of a given directory.

We can use yum or dnf to install spor on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install spor.

Install spor on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install spor using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install spor

How To Uninstall spor on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the spor package we can use the following command:
