In this tutorial we learn how to install sfxr on Fedora 34.

What is sfxr

This little tool was made to provide a simple means of getting basic sound effects into a game. You just need to hit a few buttons in this application to get some largely randomized effects. All the parameters used to create each sound are manually tweakable to allow fine-tuning if you feel like getting your hands dirty.

We can use yum or dnf to install sfxr on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install sfxr.

Install sfxr on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install sfxr using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install sfxr

Install sfxr on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall sfxr on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the sfxr package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove sfxr
