How To Install renrot on Fedora 34

renrot is A program to rename and rotate files according to EXIF tags

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install renrot on Fedora 34.

What is renrot

Renrot renames files according the DateTimeOriginal and FileModifyDate EXIF tags, if they exist. Otherwise, the name will be set according to the current timestamp. Additionally, it rotates files and their thumbnails, accordingly Orientation EXIF tag. The script can also put commentary into the Commentary and UserComment tags. Personal details can be specified via XMP tags defined in a configuration file.

We can use yum or dnf to install renrot on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install renrot.

Install renrot on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install renrot using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install renrot

Install renrot on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall renrot on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the renrot package we can use the following command:
