In this tutorial we learn how to install regexp on Fedora 34.

What is regexp

Regexp is a 100% Pure Java Regular Expression package that was graciously donated to the Apache Software Foundation by Jonathan Locke. He originally wrote this software back in 1996 and it has stood up quite well to the test of time. It includes complete Javadoc documentation as well as a simple Applet for visual debugging and testing suite for compatibility.

We can use yum or dnf to install regexp on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install regexp.

Install regexp on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install regexp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install regexp

How To Uninstall regexp on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the regexp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove regexp
