What is quotatool

Quotatool is a utility to manipulate filesystem quotas from the commandline. Most quota-utilities are interactive, requiring manual intervention from the user. Quotatool on the other hand is not, making it suitable for use in scripts and other non-interactive situations.

We can use yum or dnf to install quotatool on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install quotatool.

Install quotatool on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install quotatool using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install quotatool

How To Uninstall quotatool on Fedora 34
