In this tutorial we learn how to install pss on Fedora 34.

What is pss

pss is a power-tool for searching inside source code files. pss searches recursively within a directory tree, knows which extensions and file names to search and which to ignore, automatically skips directories you wouldn’t want to search in (for example .svn or .git), colors its output in a helpful way, and does much more.

We can use yum or dnf to install pss on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pss.

Install pss on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install pss using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install pss

How To Uninstall pss on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the pss package we can use the following command:
