How To Install osslsigncode on Fedora 34

osslsigncode is OpenSSL based Authenticode signing for PE/MSI/Java CAB files

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install osslsigncode on Fedora 34.

What is osslsigncode

osslsigncode is a small tool that implements part of the functionality of the Microsoft tool signtool.exe - more exactly the Authenticode signing and timestamping. But osslsigncode is based on OpenSSL and cURL, and thus should be able to compile on most platforms where these exist.

We can use yum or dnf to install osslsigncode on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install osslsigncode.

Install osslsigncode on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

Metadata cache created.

After updating yum database, We can install osslsigncode using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install osslsigncode

Install osslsigncode on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall osslsigncode on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the osslsigncode package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove osslsigncode
