In this tutorial we learn how to install naev on Fedora 34.

What is naev

NAEV is a 2D space trading and combat game, in a similar vein to Escape Velocity. NAEV is played from a top-down perspective, featuring fast-paced combat, many ships, a large variety of equipment and a large galaxy to explore. The game is highly open-ended, letting you proceed at your own pace.

We can use yum or dnf to install naev on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install naev.

Install naev on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install naev using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install naev

Install naev on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.
