How To Install mtpaint on Fedora 34

In this tutorial we learn how to install mtpaint on Fedora 34.

What is mtpaint

mtPaint is a simple painting program designed for creating icons and pixel-based artwork. It can edit indexed palette or 24 bit RGB images and offers basic painting and palette manipulation tools. Its main file format is PNG, although it can also handle JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, XPM, and XBM files.

We can use yum or dnf to install mtpaint on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mtpaint.

Install mtpaint on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install mtpaint using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mtpaint

Install mtpaint on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.
