How To Install mmdb2 on Fedora 34
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mmdb2
on Fedora 34.
What is mmdb2
MMDB is a macromolecular coordinate library, written by Eugene Krissinel primarily for use by the collaborative computational project 4 (CCP4) group in the United Kingdom. The Coordinate Library is designed to assist CCP4 developers in working with coordinate files. The Library features work with the primary file formats of the Protein Data Bank (PDB), the PDB file format and the mmCIF file format. The Library provides various high-level tools for working with coordinate files, which include not only reading and writing, but also orthogonal-fractional coordinate transforms, generation of symmetry mates, editing the molecular structure and some others. The Library is supposed as a general low-level tool for unifying the coordinate-related operations. This package contains the shared library components needed for programs that have been compiled with the mmdb library. mmdb2 2.0.1 16.fc34 x86_64 401 k mmdb2-2.0.1-16.fc34.src.rpm fedora Macromolecular coordinate library ftp LGPLv3 MMDB is a macromolecular coordinate library, written by Eugene Krissinel primarily for use by the collaborative computational project 4 (CCP4) group in the United Kingdom. We can use yum
or dnf
to install mmdb2
on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mmdb2.
Install mmdb2 on Fedora 34 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
Fedora 34 - x86_64 20 kB/s | 6.6 kB 00:00
Fedora 34 openh264 (From Cisco) - x86_64 1.4 kB/s | 989 B 00:00
Fedora Modular 34 - x86_64 68 kB/s | 6.5 kB 00:00
